Anna Rykaczewska was born in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. She’s living with her family in Oak Ridge, Tennessee since 1997. Anna graduated from the reputable School of Fine Arts in Warsaw with distinctions, and went on to study history of art at the University of Warsaw. Her Master thesis focused on Gothic church architecture in Poland. She worked for seven years as an art expert, designer, and evaluator for Art Christiana, a company specializing in unique religious art. She’s organized art exhibitions in Poland and in Germany. After she married, Anna and her family moved to and traveled many European countries, allowing her to study the works of the old masters. Currently, Anna is an active painter specializing in portraits, still life, landscapes, and graphic art. She also promotes art in support of local activities. In 2001, she was nominated for YWCA's “Women of Distinction” award for the volunteer art work she created for the Oak Ridge society. Anna’s lifelike portraits of composer Ludwig van Beethoven and of Maestro Serge Fournier attracted audiences during the intermissions of concerts by the Oak Ridge Symphony Orchestra and Oak Ridge Chorus in 2003. One of her paintings was presented to His Excellency US Ambassador to Poland Victor Ashe by the local Polish-American Community in 2004. In October 2006, Anna was requested by the Oak Ridge Civic Music Association to design a poster for a concert and paint a portrait of internationally renowned double bassist, artist Edgar Meyer. In November 2006 she had an individual exhibition in Peter's Jeweler Saloon in Oak Ridge. Anna also volunteers designing costumes and stage for the Polish community theatre.
